Buying peptides in the UK: how to do it properly
Buying research peptides in the UK is straightforward to do badly and takes about ten minutes to do well. The market mixes registered companies with anonymous websites, verifiable testing with asserted testing, and honest prices with permanent “sale” theatre. Nothing below asks you to take our word for anything — every check is one you can run yourself, on a public register or on the page in front of you. Where it describes what buying from NovoVita looks like, it says so plainly.
Section01
Check the company exists
A legitimate UK supplier can be looked up in minutes. There should be a named limited company at Companies House and a data-protection registration at the Information Commissioner’s Office. NovoVita Health Ltd is company no. 17414187, registered in England and Wales, and our ICO registration is ZC229349. Both are on the public registers and both are printed in the footer of every page on this site.
Be clear about what those registers prove and what they do not. Companies House confirms that a legal entity exists, who its officers are, and where it can be served with legal process — it says nothing about product quality. An ICO registration confirms the company has declared itself as a data controller and paid the fee; it is not a quality mark either. What they establish is accountability: somebody nameable is responsible, and there is an address where a complaint or a court paper can arrive.
That is the floor, and a great deal of this market does not clear it. A supplier holding your name, address and payment reference while publishing no company number has failed the easiest test there is. The longer version, with all six checks and the register links, is in our guide: how to verify a UK peptide supplier.
Section02
Understand the basis you are buying on
Research peptides are supplied in the UK as laboratory reagents for research use only. That is not a disclaimer bolted onto a consumer product — it is the actual legal basis of the sale, and it constrains what any supplier can lawfully tell you. Under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and the MHRA’s Guidance Note 8, a product becomes a medicinal product by presentation the moment it is offered with claims about treating, preventing or affecting a condition. The claim, not the molecule, is what crosses the line.
The practical consequence for you as a buyer is a useful filter. A supplier that describes what a compound is — its sequence, its mass, its presentation, its storage — is operating inside the rules. A supplier that tells you what it will do for you has left them, and has told you something about how carefully it runs everything else. You will not find dosing guidance, protocols, condition pages or outcome claims anywhere on this site, and that is deliberate rather than an oversight.
Nothing we supply is authorised for human or veterinary use. The detailed legal position, with the legislation cited and quoted, is set out in are research peptides legal in the UK? The customs position — including why the widely repeated “three-month personal allowance” does not mean what people think it means — is in do research peptides get stopped at UK customs?
Section03
Expect to pay by bank, and know what that covers
Card processors classify research chemicals as high-risk, so most careful UK suppliers in this category take payment by bank rather than by card. Ours is instant Open Banking: you approve the payment inside your own banking app, and no card details are typed anywhere. The rail runs under Yapily Connect Ltd, an FCA-authorised payment institution, firm reference number 827001, which you can confirm on the FCA register yourself.
Now the honest part, because it matters more than the convenience. A bank payment is not a card payment and does not carry the same protections. There is no Section 75 claim and no chargeback route. The APP reimbursement rules introduced in October 2024 cover fraud — being deceived into paying a criminal — and expressly do not cover a dispute with a genuine seller about goods. Our refunds are made as manual bank transfers, recorded against the order.
What that means in practice is that the registers check in section 1 is doing more work here than it would on a card checkout, which is exactly why it comes first. We also accept a manual bank transfer if you would rather move the money yourself. The full explanation, including what the Payment Systems Regulator’s guidance actually says, is in paying by bank, explained.
Two things we never do, and which are the loudest warning signs in this market: we do not take cryptocurrency, and we do not take payment into a personal account. A supplier asking for either is telling you it cannot hold a business banking relationship.
Section04
Work out the real price per milligram
Headline vial prices are close to meaningless across suppliers because vial strengths differ. The comparable figure is cost per milligram, and it is worth doing the division before you buy anything. Two examples from our own catalogue, priced live on this page so they cannot drift out of date: BPC-157 10mg is £26.99, which is £2.70 per mg; the co-lyophilised BPC-157 + TB-500 20mg blend is £45.99, which is £2.30 per mg. The larger presentation is materially cheaper per milligram, and that pattern holds across most of the range.
Multibuy applies automatically to the whole basket and there is no code to enter. The bands run 3–4 8% · 5–9 12% · 10–14 18% · 15–19 20% · 20+ 22% — so three vials take 8% off everything, rising to 22% at twenty. The discount is calculated across different compounds, not per line, so a mixed basket earns the same band a single-compound basket would.
Three details that change the arithmetic and are easy to miss. Bacteriostatic and sterile water do not count toward the vial bands — they are diluents, and a discount ladder on a diluent would be a control that lies. The sets (Eleven of them) are priced below the sum of their parts and include the water, which usually makes one the cheapest complete first order. And because the engine always charges the lower of the set price and the multibuy band, adding vials to a set can occasionally make the set stop applying — the basket works this out for you and charges whichever is less.
Delivery is tracked and free to the UK and Ireland on every order, with no minimum. The rest of Europe is a flat £4.99. A first order takes a further 10% with the code WELCOME10.
Section05
Read the evidence before you read the product page
A product page is a sales surface. If you want to know what is actually established about a compound, read something written to a different standard. Our compound library holds 39 entries covering 660 cited studies, and each entry carries the same structured panel: how much human evidence exists, where it was published, what the largest human study was, the regulatory position, and the anti-doping classification.
Two things about it are worth knowing when judging whether to trust it. First, entries exist for compounds we do not sell — the library covers the field rather than the shelf, which is the point of having one. Second, every identifier is resolved against its primary record before publication rather than taken from a draft, and the method is published, including what it caught in our own early drafts: a fabricated author, an inverted regulatory outcome, a self-contradictory anti-doping class. That is in how we verify citations.
The panels are deliberately factual rather than graded. “No completed randomised controlled trial” is checkable; a letter grade would be our opinion dressed as a measurement.
Section06
Know what a testing claim does and does not establish
Every peptide website in the UK states a purity figure, and the figures are nearly identical. What separates them is what the number refers to and whether it can be traced.
Our compounds are third-party tested at greater than 99% purity, on certificates we hold from the supplier. We do not publish those certificates, because they identify the supplier, which is the single commercially sensitive fact in this business — and rather than dress that up, we explain it: why we do not publish certificates of analysis. Judge that position as you find it. What we will not do is claim a published ledger we do not have.
When you read any supplier’s purity figure, including ours, two questions are worth asking. Is it HPLC area percent, which describes the proportion of detected material, or net peptide content, which accounts for counter-ion and water and is usually a lower number? And is there anything tying the certificate to the vial in your hand — a batch identifier, a date, a verifiable reference — or is it a PDF on a website? Our standing batch-notices register exists to carry any advisory if one ever arises, and is empty.
Purity is a statement about composition. It is not a claim that a compound does anything, and nothing we supply is authorised for human or veterinary use.
Section07
Check what actually arrives
Vials are supplied lyophilised — freeze-dried to a solid cake — and labelled with the compound name, the quantity and the research-use-only designation. The cake’s appearance varies with the compound and the fill; a thin or partly collapsed cake is a normal consequence of lyophilisation rather than a fault.
Stock is held at 4–8°C at all times, including the waters, and orders are picked and packed on the day they are despatched rather than pre-packed and shelved. Labels carry the manufacturer’s storage guidance, which for lyophilised peptides is typically −20°C for long-term storage and 15–25°C for bacteriostatic water; our refrigerated custody sits between the two, and the waters are never frozen. The detail is published in how our stock is held, which means any future change to that practice has to update a page.
Outer packaging is plain and securely sealed, with nothing on the outside describing the contents.
Diluent is not included with a vial. Lyophilised material needs reconstituting, and bacteriostatic water is bought separately — from £3.99 — or comes included in a set. The available options sit side by side under reconstitution consumables, and the arithmetic for working out concentration and draw volume is on our reconstitution calculator, which handles the volumes and deliberately does not suggest an amount.
Section08
Delivery, Ireland and customs
Orders paid before 2pm Monday to Friday are despatched the same day by Royal Mail Tracked 24. Every order is tracked, and the tracking number reaches you by email, with a status page you can open without logging in.
Ireland is the part worth reading closely if it applies to you. Parcels sent from Great Britain to the Republic attract import VAT, a minimum customs duty and a handling fee, which is why so many suppliers either decline Irish orders or leave the buyer to discover the bill on the doorstep. Our orders move as intra-EU trade and meet no customs event, so the checkout price is the whole price — no declaration, no import charge, no handling fee. That position, with the Revenue and An Post figures it is measured against, is set out in research peptides in Ireland.
We ship to thirteen countries in total. The rest of Europe is a flat £4.99; a small number of lines are restricted to the UK on regulatory grounds and the basket will tell you before you reach payment rather than after.
Section09
Read the returns position before you order, not after
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you have 14 days from delivery to tell us you are cancelling, and a further 14 days to return the goods. On a sealed vial we refund the price plus our standard outbound delivery; return postage is at your cost. On an unsealed vial the cancellation right does not apply, under the hygiene exemption in regulation 28(3) — and anything returned to us is destroyed rather than restocked.
Refunds are made as manual bank transfers and recorded against the order, which follows from the payment rail rather than being a policy choice. The full terms are on delivery and returns and in our terms. A published 14-day right that a supplier then refuses in its small print tells you how it will behave when something goes wrong; ours is stated the same way in both places.
Where to go next
If you know the compound, the buying guides cover the four most-requested in detail: BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu and CJC-1295 with Ipamorelin. If you are weighing us against another supplier, we keep a standing page holding our own practice against common practice in this market, claim by checkable claim: how NovoVita compares. For volume and institutional requirements, including itemised company invoicing, see trade and wholesale.
And if this is your first order, the whole sequence — basket, payment, despatch, what lands — is on one page: your first order, step by step.
Common questions
Is it legal to buy research peptides in the UK? They are supplied as laboratory reagents for research use only, and nothing we sell is authorised for human or veterinary use. The position is set out with the legislation cited in our legal guide.
Do prices include delivery? Yes. Delivery is free and tracked to the UK and Ireland on every order, with no minimum. The rest of Europe is a flat £4.99.
Why is there no card option? Card processors treat this category as high-risk. Payment is by instant Open Banking or manual bank transfer, and section 3 above sets out honestly what that does and does not protect.
Do I need to buy water separately? With an individual vial, yes — from £3.99. The sets include it.
What is the cheapest way to place a first order? Usually a set, because it is priced below its parts and includes the diluent, with WELCOME10 applied at checkout. The full catalogue is the place to compare.
Will you tell me how to use any of this? No. We describe what a compound is, what the literature records and how to reconstitute a known quantity. We do not publish dosing, protocols or outcome claims, and a supplier that does is telling you something about how it runs everything else.
